Responsibilities
- Design, code, and deploy software features during weekend maintenance windows to minimize impact on user experience.
- Perform rigorous system testing, debugging, and performance tuning on legacy and new codebases.
- Monitor system health and uptime using AWS CloudWatch and custom scripts.
- Execute database backups, schema migrations, and security patching.
- Conduct code reviews for the weekday team to ensure code quality and security standards.
- Document technical architecture and weekend procedures for knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to prioritize weekend backlog items.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Java.
- Deep knowledge of SQL and database optimization.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
- Proven ability to work rotating weekends (Friday-Monday or Saturday-Sunday) and holidays.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
