We are a forward-thinking technology company based in San Diego, seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Software Engineer to support our critical infrastructure. The Weekend Shift Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining system stability, executing maintenance releases, and resolving urgent technical issues outside of standard business hours. We believe in empowering our employees with equity options and a culture that prioritizes professional growth.
What You Will Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using modern technologies.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts during weekend shifts to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Debug and resolve production tickets and critical issues with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with the Agile team to plan and execute sprint tasks including code reviews and documentation.
- Optimize database queries and improve application efficiency.
- Ensure all code meets security compliance and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy high-quality, efficient code for web and mobile applications.
- Perform root cause analysis on system failures and implement long-term fixes.
- Conduct regular backups and data integrity checks on weekends.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical incidents.
- Document technical architecture and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript and frameworks like React or Angular.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Valid work authorization in the United States.
