Role Overview:
As a Weekend Shift Software Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and efficiency of our options trading infrastructure during non-standard market hours. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of quants, traders, and developers to deploy fixes and improvements that directly impact our bottom line.
Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Optimization: Monitor and maintain the stability of equity options trading engines and market data feeds during the weekend and overnight shifts.
- Code Development: Design and implement Python and C++ code to improve algorithmic efficiency, reduce latency, and handle large-scale data processing for options pricing models.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Proactively identify system bottlenecks and potential downtime risks; implement automated alerting systems to notify the on-call team of critical issues.
- Data Analysis: Analyze trade execution data and system logs to identify trends, anomalies, or opportunities for algorithmic improvement.
- Deployment & Testing: rigorously test code updates in a sandbox environment before deploying to production trading systems to ensure zero downtime.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the weekday engineering team to align on architectural improvements and system roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong preference for candidates with backgrounds in finance, fintech, or high-frequency trading.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in C++ and Python; experience with Linux environments, Docker, and distributed systems.
- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of equity options markets, Black-Scholes models, or related derivative pricing concepts is highly desirable.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
