Responsibilities
- Server & Network Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server and Linux environments, including virtualization platforms like VMware.
- Security Implementation: Enforce rigorous security protocols, manage firewalls, and ensure compliance with FISMA and NIST standards to protect sensitive data.
- Incident Response: Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex system outages and performance bottlenecks, minimizing downtime for business operations.
- System Automation: Develop and deploy Python/Bash scripts to automate routine IT tasks, improve system efficiency, and reduce manual workload.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including runbooks, network diagrams, and change management logs.
Qualifications
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or equivalent required; CISSP or Security+ is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a System Administrator in a federal or enterprise IT environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (Red Hat/CentOS).
- Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and VPN technologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
