Stratosphere Systems is seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our elite IT team in Colorado Springs. We pride ourselves on delivering enterprise-grade solutions to our clients, and we need a proactive professional to manage our hybrid cloud ecosystem. You will be the guardian of our network integrity, ensuring seamless operations across on-premise servers and cloud environments.
What You Will Do:
As a Senior System Administrator, you will bridge the gap between development and operations, implementing robust security protocols and optimizing system performance. You will have the autonomy to innovate and the support to lead technical initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure (Azure/AWS).
- Manage Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server environments, including patch management, user administration, and directory services.
- Develop and implement automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual workload.
- Monitor system health, analyze performance metrics, and proactively resolve critical issues to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Enforce security policies and conduct regular vulnerability assessments to protect organizational data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support software deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in System Administration within a hybrid environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of Linux administration and Windows Server management.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and VPNs.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred) and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- CompTIA Security+ or higher certification is required.
