Apex Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior System Administrator to join our elite IT team in Colorado Springs. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our complex enterprise infrastructure. As a key member of our engineering team, you will bridge the gap between on-premise legacy systems and modern cloud technologies. You will mentor junior administrators, automate routine tasks, and drive strategic infrastructure improvements that support our growing business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the end-to-life cycle of server hardware and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) ensuring high availability and performance.
- Cloud Integration: Manage and optimize cloud resources on AWS and Azure, including EC2 instances, VPCs, and S3 storage buckets.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols, manage Active Directory environments, and conduct vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive data.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop robust scripts using Python or Bash to automate deployment processes and reduce manual administrative overhead.
- Network Administration: Monitor network traffic, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and collaborate with network engineers to optimize LAN/WAN performance.
- Disaster Recovery: Design and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and execute regular failover drills to ensure business continuity.
- Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior staff members to foster professional growth.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience as a System Administrator or Network Engineer.
- Operating Systems: Deep expertise in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
- Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Cloud Proficiency: Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and hands-on experience with AWS or Azure services.
- Networking: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Tools: Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
