Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Windows/Linux server environments including Active Directory, VMWare, and cloud infrastructure
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure 99.9% uptime across all platforms
- Implement robust security protocols, patch management, and disaster recovery procedures
- Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell, Ansible, and Python scripts
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and containerization solutions
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control systems across hybrid environments
- Document system configurations, processes, and create knowledge base articles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience managing Windows Server 2016/2019 and Linux environments
- Expertise in VMWare ESXi, vCenter, and Hyper-V virtualization technologies
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and hybrid infrastructure models
- Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP) strongly preferred
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional on-call rotation
