Are you a technical expert with a passion for maintaining robust infrastructure? OceanView IT Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our dynamic team in Virginia Beach. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the stability, security, and performance of our enterprise IT environment, enabling our business units to operate without interruption.
What You'll Do
We are looking for someone who thrives on complexity and enjoys solving puzzles. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our server and network infrastructure, acting as the guardian of our data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain on-premise servers and virtualization environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Configure and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure, including firewalls and switches.
- Implement and enforce robust security protocols to protect organizational data.
- Provide Level 3 technical support to internal employees and resolve escalated tickets.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell/Bash).
- Oversee cloud migration projects and maintain Azure/AWS environments.
- Conduct regular system audits and disaster recovery planning.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator or Network Engineer.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, VCP, or CCNA are highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Linux distributions.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file sharing services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to support on-site requirements.
