InnovateTech Solutions is urgently seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team in downtown Chicago. You'll architect, deploy, and maintain robust Linux/Windows Server ecosystems while implementing cutting-edge security protocols. Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize on-premise and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) including VM deployment, network configuration, and storage solutions
- Implement proactive monitoring using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, and Splunk to prevent system failures
- Execute disaster recovery testing and backup system validation for 50+ production servers
- Automate deployment processes using Ansible, Terraform, and PowerShell scripts
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure-as-code
- Lead security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance adherence (SOC2, ISO 27001)
- Provide Tier-3 support during critical incidents and document resolution procedures
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience administering Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments
- Expertise in virtualization (VMware vSphere/KVM) and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- CCNA/CCNP or equivalent networking certification required
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and hybrid architectures
- Proven track record in implementing security best practices (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours during system maintenance windows
