Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Windows/Linux server environments including Active Directory, VMware, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Monitor system performance using tools like Nagios and Splunk, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks
- Manage backup/recovery systems and ensure 99.9% uptime for critical business applications
- Lead infrastructure projects including network migrations, security audits, and disaster recovery planning
- Document system configurations and create SOPs for operational procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on system administration experience in enterprise environments
- Expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019), Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), and virtualization technologies
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (SOX/HIPAA)
- Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python) and automation tools (Ansible)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
