Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Windows/Linux server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure 99.9% uptime across cloud/on-premises infrastructure
- Execute security protocols including vulnerability assessments, patch management, and access control implementations
- Manage backup/recovery systems and disaster recovery plans with RTO/RPO compliance
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on automation using Ansible, PowerShell, or Terraform
- Document system configurations, processes, and SOPs with precision
- Provide Level 3 support and mentor junior IT staff
Qualifications
- 5+ years of enterprise system administration experience with Windows Server 2016+ and Linux distributions
- Expertise in virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi/Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS/Azure)
- Certifications: CompTIA Server+, MCSE, or equivalent required; CCNA/Cybersecurity+ preferred
- Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation
- Deep knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical incidents
- BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
