Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Windows/Linux server environments including Active Directory, VMware, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Proactively monitor system performance using tools like Nagios and SolarWinds to prevent outages
- Execute security protocols including vulnerability scanning, patch management, and compliance auditing
- Lead disaster recovery planning and execute failover drills for critical business systems
- Document infrastructure configurations and create SOPs for operational procedures
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipeline optimization
- Provide tier-3 technical support for complex system issues
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise system administration with Windows Server 2019/2022 and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu)
- Expertise in virtualization (VMware vSphere) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Strong knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls)
- Certifications (CompTIA Server+, MCSA, or equivalent) required
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Proven track record in implementing security best practices (NIST, CIS)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with root-cause analysis capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
