Responsibilities
- Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and microservices specifically optimized for weekend high-availability scenarios.
- Deployment Operations: Manage CI/CD pipelines and execute critical production deployments and maintenance windows during the weekend shift.
- System Reliability: Monitor system health, analyze logs, and proactively resolve technical incidents to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with QA, Product, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and bug fixes.
- Code Quality: Lead code reviews, establish coding standards, and mentor junior engineers on best practices and architectural patterns.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience, with a proven track record in backend development.
- Availability: Must be available and willing to work a dedicated weekend schedule (Saturday and Sunday).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go; experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Relocation: Willingness to relocate to the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and experience with distributed systems and database management (SQL/NoSQL).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and team coordination.
