Responsibilities
- Development & Maintenance: Design, code, test, and debug complex software solutions using modern frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, React) with a focus on stability during off-peak hours.
- Infrastructure Support: Oversee weekend maintenance windows to deploy updates, patch security vulnerabilities, and perform system backups without disrupting daily business operations.
- Code Review & Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure best practices, security standards, and scalability across the codebase.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and QA teams to define requirements and deliver features on time.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for all systems, APIs, and architectural changes.
- Incident Response: Act as a point of escalation for critical weekend incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least two programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go) and a solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Shift Availability: Must be available to work a weekend shift (e.g., Saturday/Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Relocation Eligibility: Must be willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area or be fully remote-ready.
