As a Weekend Engineer at ApexTech Solutions, you will be the guardian of our production infrastructure. You will ensure that our platforms remain stable, secure, and performant while the rest of the team enjoys their downtime. Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality backend and frontend code for our core products.
- Monitor system health, logs, and performance metrics during off-hours to prevent downtime.
- Deploy security patches, hotfixes, and feature updates to production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with the central engineering team via asynchronous communication channels.
- Conduct code reviews and documentation updates for the weekend release cycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
- Experience working in a shift-based or on-call technical role is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work rotating weekend schedules (Saturday/Sunday).
