Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud-native microservices using AWS/GCP and containerization technologies
- Lead weekend deployment cycles and incident response for production systems
- Maintain 99.95% uptime for mission-critical financial transaction APIs
- Mentor junior engineers through pair programming and code reviews
- Optimize database performance and implement caching strategies
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and automation initiatives
- Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend development with Java/Python/Node.js
- Expertise in distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Strong proficiency with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and infrastructure-as-code
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Experience with observability tools (Datadog, New Relic) and incident management
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and passion for writing maintainable code
