The Role
In this part-time position, you will collaborate with our lead architects to design, develop, and deploy high-performance software solutions. You will play a critical role in maintaining our codebase and mentoring junior developers. This role offers the flexibility of remote work with a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Architecture & Development: Design and implement robust backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js or Python.
- Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while conducting thorough code reviews.
- System Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in existing systems and implement performance improvements and optimizations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Testing & Debugging: Develop automated tests to ensure code reliability and debug production issues efficiently.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers in best practices, code standards, and software engineering principles.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Languages: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- Frameworks: Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) and backend frameworks (Express, Django, FastAPI).
- Databases: Solid understanding of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Availability: Ability to dedicate 15-25 hours per week to the role.
