Role Overview
As a Night Shift Software Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining our critical infrastructure, deploying updates, and ensuring system stability during off-hours. While our primary hub is in New York, we support clients across the nation, including Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions for night-time maintenance cycles.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot critical issues outside of standard business hours.
- Collaborate with the day shift team to ensure seamless transition of responsibilities and code deployments.
- Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity across distributed systems.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code in Python, Java, or Go.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers on best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency system patches.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively during the night shift.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
