Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of organizational systems
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection platforms
- Document security incidents, remediation actions, and maintain compliance reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure adherence to NIST and CIS security frameworks
- Participate in security awareness training and phishing simulation campaigns
- Support incident response procedures during security breaches or system compromises
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Understanding of common security threats and mitigation strategies
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in remote and in-person environments
