Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and refine prompt engineering strategies for large language models (LLMs) including GPT-4, Claude, and proprietary systems
- Develop and maintain comprehensive prompt libraries with version-controlled templates for diverse use cases
- Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis of prompt variations to optimize response quality
- Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate prompt engineering solutions into production AI pipelines
- Create documentation and training materials for prompt engineering best practices
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and prompt engineering methodologies
- Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in prompt engineering, NLP, or AI model interaction design
- Proficiency with Python and prompt engineering frameworks (LangChain, Hugging Face, etc.)
- Strong understanding of LLM architecture, attention mechanisms, and token optimization
- Experience with fine-tuning models using techniques like LoRA and QLoRA
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to troubleshoot complex AI behavior patterns
- Strong written communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Portfolio demonstrating prompt engineering projects with measurable outcomes
