Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize advanced prompt architectures for production LLM deployments
- Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate prompt engineering solutions into multimodal AI systems
- Conduct rigorous prompt testing, A/B testing, and performance benchmarking using quantitative metrics
- Develop documentation and best practices for prompt lifecycle management
- Stay ahead of emerging AI techniques through continuous research and experimentation
- Mentor junior engineers on prompt engineering methodologies and ethical AI practices
- Partner with product teams to translate user requirements into technical prompt specifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on prompt engineering experience with production LLMs (GPT-4, Claude, Llama)
- Expertise in prompt optimization techniques including chain-of-thought, few-shot learning, and retrieval-augmented generation
- Strong programming skills in Python with experience in AI frameworks (LangChain, Hugging Face)
- Deep understanding of NLP fundamentals including transformers, embeddings, and tokenization
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable prompts
- Experience with AI safety alignment and ethical prompt design principles
- Portfolio demonstrating prompt engineering projects with measurable outcomes
