Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Perform physical and logical cabling tasks, including fiber optic and copper termination.
- Monitor network performance and analyze traffic logs to ensure optimal uptime and security.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and changes to maintain accurate technical records.
- Collaborate with system engineers to implement new network solutions and upgrades.
- Respond to and resolve critical network outages and technical incidents with minimal downtime.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with network troubleshooting, routing, and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, VLANs).
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic cabling and testing equipment (e.g., Fluke).
- Strong understanding of network security best practices and firewall configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
