Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Lead network optimization projects to enhance performance and security across Alaska's largest telecom network
- Provide Tier-3 technical support for complex network outages and incidents
- Document network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud integration and SD-WAN deployments
- Conduct regular security audits and implement network hardening measures
- Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance to the operations team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of enterprise network administration experience with Cisco/Juniper equipment
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and advanced routing protocols
- CCNP/CCIE or JNCIP certification required
- Experience with network automation tools (Python, Ansible) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex network issues
- Ability to work independently in remote Alaskan environments
- Valid Alaska driver's license required for occasional site visits
