Responsibilities
- Develop and implement 5-10 year innovation roadmaps using horizon scanning and trend analysis
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype and scale futuristic solutions
- Conduct scenario planning for disruptive technologies (quantum computing, AGI, biotech)
- Present strategic insights to C-suite executives and external stakeholders
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and R&D labs
- Manage $2M+ innovation budgets and resource allocation
- Mentor junior futurists and build foresight capabilities organization-wide
Qualifications
- 10+ years in futurism, innovation strategy, or advanced R&D leadership
- Proven track record of launching market-defining products/services
- Expertise in emerging technologies (blockchain, AI, synthetic biology)
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Technology Management, or related field
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed journals or industry publications
- Certification in Strategic Foresight (e.g., CFAP preferred)
- Experience with scenario planning tools and foresight methodologies
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts
