Responsibilities
- Architect Data Pipelines: Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines using Apache Kafka, Spark, and Flink to handle high-velocity sports data.
- Infrastructure Strategy: Lead the migration and optimization of our cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) to ensure 99.99% uptime during the event.
- Real-Time Analytics: Develop solutions for real-time data ingestion and processing to support live scoring and instant fan insights.
- Collaboration: Partner with data scientists and product managers to define data requirements and integrate ML models into the core platform.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce strict data governance and security protocols in compliance with international sporting regulations.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation and architecture diagrams to facilitate team onboarding and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on high-scale, high-availability systems.
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and major distributed data processing frameworks.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong experience with AWS (Redshift, S3, Lambda) or Google Cloud Platform.
- Big Data: Deep knowledge of stream processing and message queues.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex architectural issues under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
