Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Analyze security alerts and events from SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential breaches or anomalies in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security incidents, including root cause analysis and post-incident reporting.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our systems and applications.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA by maintaining accurate documentation and performing audits.
- Security Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on security best practices and emerging threats.
- Tool Optimization: Continuously refine detection rules and playbooks to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the SOC.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a SOC or similar operational role.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, CEH, or CISM certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM platforms, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Scripting: Ability to write and modify scripts (Python, PowerShell) for automation and log analysis.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
