Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to mitigate threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on internal and external systems.
- Develop and implement robust security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks.
- Lead post-incident investigations, root cause analysis, and provide detailed reporting to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the Software Development Life Cycle (DevSecOps).
- Educate employees on security awareness and phishing prevention to reduce human error risks.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a preference for candidates in the San Diego area.
- Active CISSP, CEH, or GSEC certification is highly required.
- Strong proficiency with security tools such as Firewalls (Check Point/Palo Alto), IDS/IPS, and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR).
- Deep understanding of network protocols, cryptography, and cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting tight deadlines.
