Apex Cyber Defense is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to protect our digital assets and ensure compliance in a rapidly evolving threat landscape. This role offers the flexibility of remote work combined with the stability of a full-time position in San Jose, CA.
We are a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions, helping enterprises secure their infrastructure. As part of our team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our clients' data, with a specific focus on operations in Virginia and across the US.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and Analyze: Implement and manage Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
- Remote Security: Establish and enforce security protocols for remote work environments, ensuring zero-trust architecture is maintained.
- Incident Response: Lead investigations into security breaches, coordinate with legal and compliance teams, and oversee remediation efforts.
- Compliance Audits: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to ensure adherence to SOC2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 standards.
- Virginia Operations: Collaborate with regional teams in Virginia to secure on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver security training programs for employees to foster a culture of security.
Qualifications
- Certification: CISSP, CEH, or similar advanced cybersecurity certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on network security and incident response.
- Remote Work Proficiency: Proven ability to manage security operations effectively from a remote location.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting; experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
