The Role:
As a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring security events, conducting vulnerability assessments, and implementing robust security measures across our network. You will act as a guardian of our data, ensuring compliance with federal standards and protecting our clients in Virginia and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents in real-time using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Manage firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Enforce security policies and compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2).
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to secure software development lifecycles (DevSecOps).
- Lead incident response investigations and provide post-incident analysis and reporting.
- Train junior staff and stakeholders on security best practices and phishing awareness.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Network Defense.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Experience with SIEM technologies and threat intelligence platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
