Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Manage incident response procedures, leading containment and eradication efforts during security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Design and implement security controls, policies, and procedures to strengthen our defense-in-depth strategy.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to secure cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Provide security training and awareness to staff members.
Qualifications
- Certification preferred: CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security.
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies, specifically SIEM (Splunk/Sentinel) and Firewalls.
- Strong understanding of network protocols and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) is a major plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to relocate to New York, NY with assistance provided.
