Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware analysis, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to strengthen our defense posture.
- Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other network security appliances.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (ISO 27001, HIPAA, NIST).
- Document security incidents, remediation steps, and incident reports for management review.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement secure coding practices and infrastructure hardening.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network security.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors.
- Proficiency with security tools including Splunk, Snort, or IDS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
