Responsibilities
- Monitor & Detect: Continuously monitor security operations center (SOC) feeds for potential intrusions, anomalies, and suspicious activities during the night shift.
- Incident Response: Lead the initial triage and containment of security breaches, coordinating with red teams and incident response managers.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively search for hidden threats and vulnerabilities within the network that automated tools might miss.
- Log Analysis: Analyze security logs and telemetry data to identify trends and craft actionable intelligence reports.
- Compliance: Ensure all security protocols adhere to industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular scans and assessments to patch vulnerabilities in real-time.
Qualifications
- Certification: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or systems administration.
- Tools: Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, or Microsoft Sentinel).
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting critical incidents.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent military/technical experience.
