Responsibilities
- 24/7 Threat Monitoring: Continuously monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to anomalies in real-time during the Night Shift.
- Incident Response: Lead the triage and remediation of security incidents, including phishing, malware, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and zero-day vulnerabilities within the network infrastructure.
- Log Analysis: Perform deep-dive log analysis using Splunk or ArcSight to identify patterns indicative of cyber attacks.
- Report Generation: Document incident timelines, root cause analyses, and remediation steps for legal and compliance reviews.
- Client Communication: Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide timely updates on security posture.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/experience).
- Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), preferably in a Night Shift environment.
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight), firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto), and endpoint protection (CrowdStrike, Endpoint Defender).
- Availability: Must be available to work a rotating Night Shift schedule (e.g., 10 PM - 6 AM or 11 PM - 7 AM).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
