Responsibilities
- Incident Response & Monitoring: Analyze security alerts from SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify, triage, and respond to security incidents in real-time.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans, risk assessments, and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and implement remediation strategies.
- Security Governance: Enforce organizational security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Threat Intelligence: Monitor threat landscapes and intelligence feeds to proactively identify emerging threats and potential attack vectors.
- Network Defense: Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPNs to safeguard network traffic.
- Collaboration: Partner with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network security, or IT security operations.
- Certifications: Must possess or be willing to obtain CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CISM certifications.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux and Windows administration, including command-line usage and scripting (Python or PowerShell preferred).
- Tools: Strong working knowledge of SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear incident reports and security briefings.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent military/combat experience.
