Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents in real-time using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Azure Sentinel).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in network infrastructure.
- Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs to enforce secure network boundaries.
- Lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis, containment, and post-incident reporting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOC 2.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to remediate security flaws in software and systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst, SOC Analyst, or Security Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model, routing/switching).
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
- Certifications preferred: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during security breaches.
