Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (Splunk, Azure Sentinel) to identify potential threats and anomalies.
- Conduct daily vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses before they are exploited.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing malware analysis and root cause determination.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard network traffic.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation (SOC2, HIPAA).
- Collaborate with IT engineering teams to patch vulnerabilities and implement robust security controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in a SOC (Security Operations Center) environment.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and network protocols.
- Proficiency with incident response frameworks (NIST, SANS) and digital forensics.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
