Apex Securities Group is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our elite Information Security team in the heart of Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be on the front lines of defense, securing our proprietary equity options platforms and ensuring the integrity of our financial data streams.
As a key member of our risk management team, you will architect robust security solutions to mitigate threats targeting derivatives trading infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security telemetry across equity options trading environments to detect and neutralize advanced threats in real-time.
- Conduct rigorous vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on trading algorithms and financial APIs.
- Lead incident response investigations for potential data breaches or system compromises involving sensitive financial records.
- Implement and maintain Zero Trust architecture and secure access controls for internal finance systems.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure adherence to SEC regulations, FINRA rules, and GDPR standards.
- Develop and execute security awareness training programs tailored to financial sector risks.
- Oversee the patch management lifecycle for critical trading infrastructure software.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ (Security Analytics focus).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on financial services or equity trading systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), endpoint protection, and network security monitoring.
- Programming: Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for automated threat hunting.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, encryption standards, and secure communication protocols (SSL/TLS).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
