Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring & Response: Act as the first line of defense in our SOC, monitoring network traffic and security events specific to equity trading systems using SIEM tools.
- Platform Security: Design and implement security measures to protect our proprietary trading algorithms and equity options databases from unauthorized access and cyber-attacks.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on internal and external systems to identify and remediate security gaps.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all security protocols align with SOX, GLBA, and other financial regulatory requirements relevant to equity markets.
- Incident Management: Lead the investigation and containment of security breaches, coordinating with legal and IT teams to minimize downtime and financial loss.
- Security Awareness: Develop training programs and documentation to educate staff on best practices for securing financial data and preventing social engineering attacks.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on financial services or high-frequency trading systems.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, CISM, or equivalent certification is highly required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for scripting security tasks; strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of how equity options work and the specific security risks associated with financial derivatives trading.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
