Apex Tech Solutions is aggressively expanding our security operations center (SOC) and is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team in Columbus, OH. Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify potential risks.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Lead incident response investigations, including root cause analysis and post-incident reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Collaborate with development and IT teams to implement secure coding practices and infrastructure improvements.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Active CISSP or CEH certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or SOC analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency with security tools such as FireEye, Palo Alto Networks, or CrowdStrike.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
