Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and mitigate advanced threats
- Conduct incident response investigations, including root cause analysis and containment procedures
- Develop and implement security controls to reduce organizational risk exposure
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Generate executive-level security reports and threat intelligence briefings
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR standards
- Lead security awareness training programs for employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CISM, or GIAC (e.g., GCFA, GCIH) preferred
- Expert knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Experience with threat hunting frameworks and MITRE ATT&CK techniques
- Strong analytical skills with ability to prioritize complex security incidents
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
