Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor security alerts and events via SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to identify and respond to suspicious activities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security breaches, ensuring minimal impact on business operations and restoring integrity swiftly.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and recommend patches or mitigation strategies.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA by maintaining accurate documentation and conducting audits.
- Security Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on security best practices and phishing awareness.
- Tool Optimization: Continuously improve security tools, playbooks, and automated response processes to enhance the efficiency of the SOC.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 4+ years of proven experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or in a similar SOC role.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools, endpoint protection (EDR), and network security appliances.
- Scripting: Ability to write Python or Bash scripts to automate security tasks and data analysis.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
