Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Develop quantum error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to characterize and improve qubit performance metrics
- Lead experimental quantum simulations using industry-leading platforms (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing curricula
- Secure and manage research grants from DARPA, NSF, and private foundations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- Expertise in quantum information theory and quantum circuit design
- Proficiency with Python, C++, and quantum computing frameworks
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum hardware interfaces
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex research projects to completion
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and statistical mechanics
