Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to prototype and validate quantum circuit designs
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure competitive research grants and patents for quantum computing innovations
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum for internal training programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum circuit design
- Published record in quantum information science or quantum algorithm development
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, D-Wave)
- Proven ability to secure research funding through NSF or DOE grants
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences
