Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop quantum error correction techniques to enhance qubit stability and fidelity
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Lead cross-functional projects with engineers and data scientists to prototype quantum applications
- Secure external funding through NSF and DOE grants to advance quantum research initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with published papers in top-tier journals
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (e.g., Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum circuit design
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#) and Python/C++
- Demonstrated experience with quantum simulation tools and error mitigation techniques
- Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex mathematical and computational problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
