Responsibilities
- Design and implement fault-tolerant quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research on quantum error correction techniques and hybrid quantum-classical systems
- Develop scalable quantum hardware interfaces and control systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into experimental prototypes
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum engineering interns
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Expertise in quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong publication record in quantum computing research
- Experience securing federal research grants
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams
