Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error correction protocols for quantum systems to achieve fault-tolerant computing
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve qubit coherence times and gate fidelities
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning applications
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing focus
- 3+ years of experience in quantum algorithm development or quantum hardware research
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and information theory
- Demonstrated ability to publish high-impact research in quantum computing
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
