Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists
- Secure research funding through NSF and DoD grants
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Advise government agencies on quantum policy and standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum information theory or quantum computing
- Proficiency in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and complexity theory
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware (D-Wave, Rigetti, or IBM)
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
