Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction techniques to overcome quantum decoherence challenges
- Lead cross-functional research teams in prototyping quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Publish breakthrough findings in top-tier journals and present at global quantum conferences
- Collaborate with industry partners to translate theoretical research into commercial quantum solutions
- Secure federal and private funding through compelling grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum circuit design
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Experience with quantum simulation tools (Qiskit Aer, Quil, TensorFlow Quantum)
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding (NSF, DARPA, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
