Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead breakthrough research in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical quantum processors
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research funding through NSF/DOE grants
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates
- Develop intellectual property portfolio with 5+ patents annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error correction techniques
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Experience securing government research grants
- Fluency in Python/C++ for quantum simulation frameworks
