Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum machine learning models
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical concepts into practical solutions
- Secure federal and private research grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in quantum information theory and quantum algorithms
- Expertise in high-performance computing and parallel processing
- Track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent venues
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Ability to communicate complex quantum concepts to diverse stakeholders
